How to teach a dog to cage?

First, walk the dog. Then remove the collar from it to avoid unpleasant incidents in the cage. Attract the attention of the dog with a special toy and give the command in an excited and joyful tone: \"Home!\" (you can come up with any command). Use the toy to draw the dog into the cage, for example, throw it into the far corner of the cage or hold it in a cage with your hand. When the dog enters the cage, praise it with gentle words, and give it to the toy.

The same can be done using bone or dog biscuit. Throw the bone to the back of the cage and allow the puppy to find it. Remember, the cell should cause only positive emotions.

Turn your schooling lessons into a game. Spend it a couple of days and repeat the exercise 10-20 times a day.

To begin, leave the door open.

Do not immediately leave the dog in a cage for a long time. When the dog starts without fear, boldly and cheerfully go into his \" lair \"try to keep it there for short periods. If, while in a cage, the dog behaves quietly and calmly, praise it. If she barks or whines, do not pay attention (!) To her until she calms down, and then be sure to praise. If the dog is noisy for a long time, try to cover the cage with something (a veil, etc.). Remember that whining and barking at this stage is not evidence that the dog does not like the cage. She is just fine with you, and she needs to be reunited. Never go with her!

After the dog starts to behave calmly for short periods (and this, sooner or later, will happen), increase its \"cellular \" time. Do not forget to praise the dog when it behaves calmly occasionally. Increase the gap between praises. And be sure to walk the dog when you let it out of the cage.

The same can be done differently. After you close the cage door, stay close to the puppy, and talk to him about something. If the puppy starts to whimper, distract him. Let him sniff his fingers. Stay close to the puppy until he stops whining and only after that, open the cage door. Usually, this exercise takes 5-10 minutes. It will be good if during the lesson the puppy falls asleep, do not wake him up. When he wakes up himself, let him out and do not praise, do not play, do not caress him and, in general, do not pay attention to him for a few minutes. Let him decide that he is loved much more when he is in a cage. And do not let the puppy out of the cage until he sits quietly for 30 seconds.

If you take the time during the day and learn the lesson described above with your dog, you will easily be left in a cage for the night. If you have not done so, put the cage next to your bed, tire (this is very important!) The puppy with a game and lure him into the cage in one of the ways indicated. If the puppy is whimpering, put your palm on the cage or stick your fingers inside and talk to him gently and soothingly. Be patient one night, and your happy future is worth it. Do not let the puppy out of the cage; do not be angry with him and do not cry.

For a start, do not go away for long. For the first time, it is advisable to miss one-two hours. If you are in a hopeless situation, and must go to work, ask someone to feed and walk a puppy in your absence. If the cell does not have a slatted floor and a pallet, the need for a walk increases, it will be challenging to wean a puppy from getting dirty in a cage if he gets used to it.

If you are persistent in your demand and always leave the puppy in a cage when you leave home or go to sleep, after a while, you will find that the puppy often climbs there himself. Let the cell door be always open when you are at home.
